The Falcon was built for the Hot Rod Power Tour, so that we could show up in a cool car that was out of our normal character of a Camaro or Mustang. “Nobody expected me to bring a beat-up old Falcon to the Power Tour, so that’s what we built,” Jon said. Found in Roswell, NM where it had been sitting for years in a field, the “barn find,” if you will, was turned into a righteous street driver with a 347ci stroker, a TCI front end, Wilwood brakes all around, and amenities like cruise control, air conditioning, and modern gauges. The Falcon is Jon’s daily driver (along with his 1985 Chevy truck) and can be driven cross-country at any time. When asked when he plans to paint the car, Jon just explains the care procedure for the original patina—spray it down with WD40 once a month and that’s it. It keeps it looking like it is, and keeps it from ever rusting!
