PROJECT Overview

Those of us over the age of 40 know who Alice Cooper is. As Wikipedia says, “Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor whose career spans over 50 years. With a raspy voice and a stage show that features numerous props and stage illusions, including pyrotechnics, guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, reptiles, baby dolls, and dueling swords, Cooper is considered by music journalists and peers to be ‘The Godfather of Shock Rock.’ He has drawn equally from horror films, vaudeville, and garage rock to pioneer a macabre and theatrical brand of rock designed to shock audiences.”

These days, Alice lives in the Arizona desert and has a garage full of hot rods. However, he has trouble driving them most of the year due to overheating issues in the desert heat. He wanted a Mustang built to Bullitt specs that would never overheat and had a killer stereo with a CD player. Why a CD player? Other musicians send him demos on CD, and his favorite time to listen to them is when he’s in his car. After reading a story about IPT in Hot Rod Magazine, Alice called us and told us what he wanted, so we built it for him. This is one of our R-code Mustangs with full coil-over suspension and all of our tricks, painted in the traditional Bullitt Highland Green. It’s a beautiful car that Alice now drives every day, without any heating problems or other issues. He jumps in, turns on the AC, cranks the stereo to listen to the latest demos, and enjoys a peaceful drive to the golf course!

Alice loved his Mustang so much that it’s featured on the cover of his latest album. For build photos, you can check out the album here.
