IPT owner Jon Marshall wanted to build a car for his soon-to-be 13 year-old son Hunter to race in NHRA’s latest Jr/Street class, a new class for 13-15 year olds to get involved in doorslammer (non Jr Dragster) racing. After thoughts and with business in mind, Jon bought a 2022 COPO Camaro #003 and prepped it for the class. This involved a lot of help from Daren Poole-Adams in helping to train young Hunter how to drive and in setting up the Holley fuel injection. It all came down to a race at Rockingham Dragway’s Super Chevy event, where they had the Jr/Street class on the docket, and wouldn’t you know, Hunter won his first race, collecting a highly prized NHRA Wally trophy! Special thanks to the entire IPT crew for all the assistance, and especially Daren for the knowledgable help and guidance.
