After a six-year journey to secure an exclusive licensing agreement with Toyota and a low-volume manufacturers agreement with the USA, we’re thrilled to bring this vision to life in 2026.
The IMC79: Classic Style, Modern Muscle
The Toyota LC79 is renowned worldwide for conquering deserts, mountains, and jungles. Its rugged design and unmatched reliability have made it a favorite in markets like Africa and Australia—but EPA and DOT regulations have kept it out of the USA. The IMC79 changes that. By pairing the LC79’s iconic 1979 styling with a 6.2L GM LT1 V8 engine, delivering 430 horsepower, we’ve created a truck that meets stringent EPA standards, including California’s CARB requirements, thanks to the LT1’s direct injection technology.
Crafted in Moore County, North Carolina
Every IMC79 will be proudly assembled in Moore County, North Carolina, supporting local jobs and leveraging the region’s automotive expertise. Under the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act, we’re producing just 300 units per year, ensuring meticulous craftsmanship. At Innovation Motor Company, we’re “integrators, not just fabricators,” as our team shared at the unveiling. Every truck undergoes a rigorous quality assurance process, with every bolt—down to the fender’s 25 ft-lbs specification—checked to meet GM standards.

The IMC79 retains the “beautifully simple” utility of the 1979 Toyota pickup, complete with steel wheels and a rugged aesthetic. While cost constraints ($3.5 million to engineer) prevented airbags, we’ve prioritized safety with features like a backup camera and other modern upgrades. Inside, the IMC79 balances vintage charm with practical creature comforts, making it ideal for overlanding, work, or a night out.
